Zechariah 9:9

9. "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; He is just and endowed with salvation, humble, and mounted on a donkey, Even on a colt, the foal of a donkey."

FULFILLMENT

"And Pilate asked Him, saying, 'Are you the King of the Jews?' And He answered him and said, It is as you say." "And Jesus, finding a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written, Fear not, daughter of Zion; Behold your King comes sitting on a donkey's colt."

(Matthew 21:1-9); Luke 23:3; John: 14-15

Jewish source

Saadia ben Joseph, Gaon of Sura (born 892 in Egypt, and died 942 in Babylonia) "But is it not written of the Messiah, 'Lowly and riding upon an ass'? Yes, but this shows that He will come in humility, and not in pride upon horses."

Pesiqta Rabbati (collection of sermons on pentateuchal and prophetic lessons, came into existence at about 845) "He is just and victorious, that is the Messiah."

Midrash Kohelet: "As it is said of the former Redeemer, and Moses took his wife, and sons, and set them on an ass, so it is said of the latter Redeemer (Messiah) 'poor, and riding on an ass'
